Phased Return to school from the 8th March

We look forward to welcoming all our learners back to school from the 8th March 2020. Below sets out the phasing of our return over 4 days whilst we test  each year group on their return.

Year 11,12,13 will come into school for a test only on Monday 8th March. When the test is complete, learners will return home. Parents will receive notification of the time for each test at the end of next week. They will start full-time face to face school at 8.45am on Tuesday 9th March.

Year 9,10 will come into school for a test only on Tuesday 9th March. When the test is complete, learners will return home. Parents will receive notification of the time for each test at the end of next week. They will start full-time face-to-face school at 8.45am on Wednesday 10th March.

Year 7,8 will come into school for a test only on Wednesday 10th March. When the test is complete, learners will return home. Parents will receive notification of the time for each test at the end of next week. They will start full-time face-to-face school at 8.45am on Thursday 11th March.

Remote learning and live lessons will continue for year groups who are not in school on Monday 8th, Tuesday 9th and Wednesday 10th March.

Following this, we will commence the second and third round of testing in school. The process will be complete by Friday 19th March. Following this, parents will be issued with test kits for learners to use at home.

Whilst testing is not compulsory, it is really important that as many people as possible consent to take part to help us keep our school community safe at this time. If you have not already done so, I ask you to give your consent to your child participating in testing via your parent pay account.

Additionally, we will be testing all staff on Friday 5th March and preparing for the following week. There will be no live lessons on that day, instead learners will be set work to complete via Google Classroom. Please ensure your son/daughter engages in this activity.

Centre Assessed grades and mock exams (Y11, 12, 13)

Following the announcement from Ofqual earlier this week, we have received many questions about this process and how we will determine grades. We are still finalising our process which will be finely tailored to meet the requirements of all differing subjects. Mr Corner will be writing to you with more details early next week.
