Free School Meals
The government rules for Free School Meals have changed (September 2026). All families who receive Universal Credit are now eligible for free school meals.
However, all parents/carers must have an active, verified eligibility check on file to continue to claim free school meals. You will be asked by the school to run the check annually towards the end of the summer term.
What happens if you do not complete the check?
-
Free meals will stop: If you have not completed the eligibility check by the end of the academic year, your child’s Free School Meals will end the following September.
-
Action required: Even if your child received free meals previously, you must submit a new check to prevent any interruption.
How to check:
-
Visit the online checker [https://fsm.lgfl.net/].
-
Enter your basic details to run a quick, secure check.
-
Your result is instant, and the school will be notified automatically.
If you need help completing the form, please contact the school office or ask your child to pick up a paper form from the Attendance Office.
